R2D2 All Steel Custom Fabricated Log Burner / Display Piece, Star Wars, Jedi Art

  
As huge Star Wars fans we have wanted to create an R2D2 for a while. This was lovingly fabricated by ourselves in our Lancashire studio.

R2 is approximately half life size and we have scaled and designed it from the original R2 D2 blueprints. Our R2D2 is made entirely from steel and unlike some of the others out there ours has a correctly proportioned steel dome. We made R2 to be a log burner but he came out so nice that it would look amazing as a piece of art in any home or garden.

You could also put a bio fuel burner in him and use him inside as room light / heater. The photo's really don't do him justice.

Everything on R2 is welded and he is a very substantial and heavy. The Door is Removable for easier cleaning and he is drilled underneath to draw air in if you would like to use him as a burner.

To seal in the finish we have used 3 coats of high temperature clear lacquer. If used outside we reccommend he is covered as the british climate can be very hard on steel even if its lacquerd. Or you could just allow him to age naturally.
